Starting this month, the new Bacon and Blue cheeseburger will be available in restaurants nationwide. After beefing up their hamburger line-up with the 2009 launch of fresh-cooked Applewood smoked bacon, Wendy's is giving the traditional cheeseburger a savory twist by adding sautéed onions, real blue cheese crumbles and creamy steakhouse sauce. "We've heard loud and clear that our customers love the new Applewood smoked bacon," says Ken Calwell, chief marketing officer for Wendy's. "This great bacon and real blue cheese crumbles takes the Bacon and Blue hamburger to a whole new level and offers gourmet taste for a value price." Like all Wendy's hamburgers, the Bacon and Blue is made with fresh, never frozen beef, hand-leafed lettuce and freshly sliced tomato.
